The Lush, Heavy-Laden Season of Ripe Persimmons in Da Lat

In September, persimmon branches in the Lam Dong highlands hang heavy with fruit, gradually turning golden yellow. By October, the persimmons take on a deep red hue, much like ripe tomatoes. The fairytale-like scenery of persimmon orchards attracts visitors to take photos and check in.

Visitors can choose many ways to enjoy the persimmon season: picking and tasting crisp, sweet persimmons straight from the tree; taking check-in photos beneath branches laden with fruit overhead; or buying a few kilograms of wind-dried persimmons or fresh crunchy persimmons as gifts for loved ones. These are all unforgettable experiences when visiting this misty mountain city.

As a Saigon native who loves Da Lat, Mr. Pham Kim Nhan (30 years old, who has been living in this mountain city for 7 years) shared:
“At the beginning of September each year, whenever persimmon season arrives, I carry my camera and travel around persimmon-growing areas in Da Lat to take photos.
For me, each year brings a different emotion—a mix of joy and anticipation.

More than just capturing beautiful scenery, persimmon season is also a sign that the cool Da Lat winter is approaching—the season most visitors look forward to each year,” the photographer added.
